Trend Alert: Ombre Hair
Remember the days when dark roots were frowned upon? This season, turn that frown upside down and embrace the hottest hair trend of the moment, Ombre hair!

Ombre hair is a super low maintenance approach to coloring your locks. It starts out dark at the roots and gradually becomes lighter toward the tips. It gives off a relaxed attitude and when done right, not only looks fantastic but can save you money because you won’t be needing that 6-week touch-up!

Model Lily Alridge was seen sporting the Ombre Trend at the Victoria Secret 2010 Fashion Show earlier this week. I love how it looks on her!

Keep it subtle!
Too much of a color contrast can take the look from laid back chic, to sloppy. The slight gradation of color on Sarah Jessica Parker (above), Ashley Tisdale and Hilary Duff (below) looks fantastic.

See a Professional!
When going Ombre for the first time, let a pro handle it. While the trend is supposed to look effortless, it can actually be quite difficult to achieve. The key to this look is the natural fade from dark to light which is not easy to do on your own.
What Not To Do:

Seems like Drew Barrymore and Ashlee Simpson have taken the trend a little too seriously. The contrast of colors from root to tip looks very harsh.
What Do You Think? Would You Rock Ombre Hair?

Red Carpet Trend: Colorful Eyeshadow!
A Look into the Colorful Makeup on the 52nd Annual Grammy’s Red Carpet
Unlike the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, the Grammys are an place where celebrities get a little more creative with their makeup! Bright colors were all over the red carpet yesterday, from eyes and lips, to Gaga’s yellow hair! It’s time to take a (short) trip down memory lane, into the best and worst colorful looks of the night.

Spanish singer-songwriter, Shaila Durcal, wore a vivid purple (looks like MUFE #92 eyeshadow?) smokey eye at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last night. She looks fabulous, and her makeup is gorgeous.

Katy Perry wore yellow and purple eyeshadow, a bright pink lip and a golden bindi on the red carpet. I’m all for bindis, but I think she should have kept her makeup more neutral for this look to work. The bright makeup looks a little bit garish with her nude dress.

Melody Thorton from The Pussycat Dolls kept her look pretty natural, with just a wash of mauve eyeshadow on her upper and lower lid, and glossy pink lips.

Purple was definitely the color of the night! Singer, Kaya Jones, matched her eyes to her dress, which to be honest, is a huge pet peeve of mine. This look would be pretty if there were a little bit less purple. The bright color travels all the way around her eye making them look more bruised than glamorous.
Hillary Scott did this colorful trend justice last night! With just a hint of teal shimmer on the inner corner of her eyes, her look is sexy and fun. She keeps her blush and lips neutral, letting her eyes take all the focus. A+
Just because it’s a trend, it doesn’t mean that everyone automatically executes it flawlessly, lol. “Tick-Tok” singer, Ke$ha, showed up with this blue, bronze and yellow glittery mess all over her eyes. Sorry girl, but this look is not working for you.
