Key makeup artist Pat McGrath had originally designed YSL’s makeup look with vivid purple lips but that’s not what the models appeared on the runway in. Last minute, McGrath changed her mind saying “the face needs to be more open and sexy” and makeup artists scrambled to replace the purple pouts with a creamy peach lipstick.

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2011- Alexander McQueen
Hair guru, Guido, created the amazing hair spotted at Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2011 show. I can’t get over how intricate and incredible this looks! Allure magazine reported that hairstylists working behind the scenes used over 80 cans of hairspray to get the model’s runway ready!!!!

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2011 – Yves Saint Laurent
With all of the full eyebrows on the runway this season, I am loving YSL’s bleached brow (seen a few days at Paris Fashion Week). Looks amazing with the burgundy lip!

Christian Dior – Paris Fashion Week – Spring 2011
The models walking in Christian Dior’s Spring 2011 show were given a modern and colorful 1950′s inspired look. Bright colored shadows were applied to the eyelids, stopping right at the crease, along with winged liner and very full brows.

Textured Eyeshadow at Chanel
Paris Fashion Week A/W 2010
Chanel

While New York Fashion Week seems like a distant memory, designers in Paris are finally showing their A/W 2010 collections!
Today, the Chanel show was an amazing spectacle. Last season, models strutted through bales of hay; this season Karl Lagerfeld took it one (or 10!) steps further by hauling in a real iceberg from Sweden to sit in the middle of his runway!
Just as mesmerizing (to me, at least), was the textured eyeshadow Chanel’s makeup artists applied to the model’s eyes. I love the brush stroke effect! Obviously, this look is not one you would wear to the office, but I love an artistic twist to a standard, black smokey eye. Keeps things interesting

Spotted: Colored Eyebrows at Balenciaga!
Paris Fashion Week A/W 2010:
Green, Blue, Orange, and Pink Eyebrows!!

It’s Fashion Week in Paris as we speak and I love, love, love what I saw on the Balenciaga runway today!! While not practical at all for everyday wear, the colored eyebrows rockin’ the runway were lovely nonetheless!
Pat McGrath was the key artist for the show. She kept the entire the face super clean, with just a touch of baby pink blush on the cheeks and a hint of pink on the lips. It was the perfect canvas for such unique brows!
The subtlety is perfect. The brows are dramatic but not over the top.
I love a pink eyebrow any day of the week!

Eyebrows: Bleach ‘em or Grow ‘em?
I’m confused…. hahaha. No, but I really am.
As mentioned before (here), bleached eyebrows were THE rage this season during fashion week. Tons of models in a majority of the shows were seen sporting the “no brow” look. Not the models at the Chloe Marithé + François Girbaud’s shows though! They decided to ignore that trend all together and take it in the complete opposite direction with exaggerated and bushy eyebrows!

Makeup artists at the Chloe show concentrated on bold, natural eyebrows. And by natural, I’m talking the kind of eyebrow I rocked in the fourth grade. The eyebrows are actually drawn on even more to make them look thick and unruly.

While the models at the Marithé + François Girbaud show were given exaggerated and intense brows that reached for the ceiling!
With all the bleached brow madness, it must have been a nice change for makeup artists to be able draw the brows back on!

The Makeup, The Hair, The Shoes!
Last night in Paris, Alexander McQueen debuted his Spring/Summer 2010 collection. He showed a live broadcast of the show on his website and it was amazing! The models were made to look like reptiles, aquatic creatures and aliens as the show progressed in an almost evolutionary way. The clothes were incredible, the makeup was amazing, the hair was breath taking and the shoes were out of this world!!

The makeup started out very natural and moved into the extreme by the end of the show. Makeup artists even added prosthetic pieces on the models to give them that un-worldly, creature-like feel. The eyebrows were bleached (very popular this season) to make them look invisible, and the models faces were painted with a shimmery, almost metallic-like foundation.
The hair at this show was insane! It ranged from intricate woven braids to enormous wings at the back of the head.

Don’t even get me started on the shoes!!
I can’t believe not one model fell over in these 10 inch high platforms. They pretty much stole the show. I’ve never seen anything like it, and while I wouldn’t wear them out, I think that they are incredibly unique and kind of amazing.

The whole show was executed flawlessly and truly was a work of art.

A Look At the Makeup Seen at Vivienne Westwood’s Runway Show 2010
Vivienne Westwood showed her collection yesterday at Paris Fashion Week. The hair and makeup seen at this show was amazing! So edgy and unique!

All of the models in the show sported stark white faces. It was interesting how the white was not totally opaque, as only select areas of the face had less product, letting some of the skin show through.
Several models wore a blood red lipstick on the center of their lips, letting it bleed past the natural lipline and onto the chin and upper lip. Some wore white lips with the blood red lipstick at the corners of the lips and extending out a little onto the cheeks.
Not all models got the red lip! Several had haphazardly places black spots in random areas of the face (see picture below). While others displayed black lines, with the dark inner eye corners.
The hair was “bride of frankenstein chic” lol. Teased up to the ceiling, and dyed colors of red, yellow and orange.
LOVED THIS SHOW!
