DIY Pumpkin Beauty Treatments

Make the Most Out of your Jack O Lanterns!
Pumpkins are full of Vitamins A, C, and Zinc. According to researchers, they contain over 100 ingredients to help make your skin look and feel younger. They also have tons of antioxidants which help fight against free radicals! Tomorrow, instead of throwing away your Jack O Lanterns, get one more use out of that old pumpkin, and make yourself beautiful!
To do so, chop your pumpkin into several blocks, boil the blocks in hot water for up to 10 minutes. Make sure the pumpkin is soft enough to mash up, and then follow these easy steps:
HOMEMADE PUMPKIN BEAUTY TREATMENTS:
Pumpkin Body Scrub:
1/2 Cup- Cooked Pumpkin
1/2 Cup- Brown Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon- Cinnamon
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and stir. It’s a good idea to lay out some newspapers on your bathroom floor because this could get messy. Take your mixture and massage into your skin for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and your skin will be exfoliated, healthy and glowing!
Pumpkin Face Masque:
3 Tablespoons of cooked or canned Pumpkin
1 Teaspoon of Honey
1/4 Teaspoon of Milk
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and massage into your face. Let sit for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Wash your face with your normal cleanser, if needed.
5 Awesome Makeup Tutorials for Halloween
Step by Step Makeup Tutorials for the Last Minute Halloween Costumes
This is a great Lady Gaga inspired tutorial. It’s SUPER easy to do and the techniques can be used for all different kinds of costumes. This particular look is inspired by Gaga’s VMA makeup, if you are interested in her PokerFace makeup, check out my tutorial HERE.
I LOVE this masquerade mask tutorial. It’s also pretty simple to achieve and will give you that WOW factor tonight, whether you’re trick or treating or going out to party.
This tutorial is so creative! It’s great for guys who don’t want to dress up, but still can get into the Halloween spirit. It can also work for a lot of scary costumes, as it is not character specific.
I like this tutorial because it’s so unique! It’s proof that makeup really does make the costume!
This makeup can be used for all different kinds of costumes. He says that he used it as Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, but can also be great for Wicked’s Elfaba.

Halloween is the best time to get crazy with your makeup and try some things you wouldn’t normally dream about doing! I love extreme false eyelashes but lets face it, if you wore these out any other day, you would look kind of crazy! Luckily, it’s that time of year and hopefully these lashes will inspire you to take your Halloween makeup to a whole ‘nother level.

Wearing colored eyelashes can add to just about any costume. Luckily, they make just about any colored lash under the rainbow, including rainbow itself! If you have a costume that wouldn’t work with any of the other lashes we’ve seen, simple colored lashes can add that fun, costume-y twist.

Lady Gaga Inspired Makeup Tutorial
So, I am going to be Lady Gaga for Halloween because I’m kind of obsessed with her.
Anyway, I was deciding on how to do my makeup and wanted to make a tutorial because I know a lot there are going to be a lot of Gagas out there this Halloween.

Apply your foundation. In the Poker Face video, Lady Gaga’s skin is very smooth and even so I would recommend a medium/full coverage one. I used MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid. Next, lightly powder to set the foundation under your eyes and on your eyelids.
\
Apply a highlighter to the top of your cheekbones to make them stand out. Blend it in with a brush or a sponge. I used Smashbox’s artificial light (my favorite highlighter!!).

Next, apply an eyeshadow base. For this look, I pat on MAC’s paint in Pixel with my finger. Its a sheer silver color and great base for this look.
Next, I applied Makeup Forever’s silver from the Flash Color Palette to my eyelid. This step isn’t necessary, but it will help to grab the silver eyeshadow you put on next, and it will make it more vibrant.

Next, I applied a bright silver eyeshadow with a firm brush. Pat on the eyeshadow and don’t worry about blending just yet. Make sure you get enough color to look vibrant and dramatic. I used Yaby’s silver pearl paint.

Now, take a clean and fluffy brush to blend the silver. Use the windshield wiper motion with your brush on the shadow. Make sure it’s blended well.

Next, apply a dark grey or black eyeshadow to the outer crease and blend, blend, blend! I used MUFE’s black eyeshadow and applied it very lightly so it didn’t get too dark.

Now apply your top eyeliner! I love MAC’s blacktrack fluidline with an angled eyeliner brush. You can use a pencil, a liquid liner etc. As long as you get a dark, straight black line. I extended the liner a little out past my eye because I wanted to elongate my eyes a bit.

For the bottom eyeliner I’m using the same angled liner brush. I like to use eyeshadow as bottom liner because it looks softer. I applied the same MUFE black eyeshadow to the outer corner of my eye and Yaby’s silver pearl paint to the inner corner.

Line your outer waterline with a black pencil.
Line the inner waterline with a white pencil to open up the inside of your eyes.
MAC Halloween Video
I’m not usually a huge MAC fan but I thought this video was really interesting and it will help to inspire you to think outside the box when designing your Halloween makeup this year!!
