New Beauty Launches
L’Oreal Names Hugh Laurie the Face of their Male Cosmetic Line

House star, Hugh Laurie has just landed an unexpected role as L’Oreal’s new celebrity spokesman for the brand’s Men Expert line. Cyril Chapuy, global brand president of L’Oréal Paris describes the actor as”the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end.”
Laurie, on the other hand admits that he “thought L’Oreal’s decision was “a mistake” but then, “realised that L’Oréal wasn’t looking for models, but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it … and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all.”
Tom Ford to Release a Full Color Collection
So, I know that I’m wayyy late to the party on this one but I wanted to touch on it anyway..
Tom Ford is launching a full cosmetics collection!
Ford tells WWD that he loves a strong eye and mouth for night, as well has full eyebrows (“the key to a youthful look”) and that’s exactly the direction makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury went while doing the ad campaigns.

In addition to creating the line, Ford also appears in the ads alongside Ms. Stone (who looks gorgeous btw!!)
“I’m not in the ads because I’m vain,” Ford tells WWD “A lot of people still don’t know who I am, and the product sells better with me in the ads.”

The 132 piece collection will be sold in high end stores such as Bergdorf Goodman as well as some Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue locations.

The collection looks amazing and the packaging is beautiful but with a price range from $30-$250, we’re not sure if we’ll be able to afford it.

Tattoos.. For Your Lips?
EW, Why??

If you’ve ever wanted to look like you have a contagious disease festering on your lips, you’re in luck! Violent Lips is a new product which can do just that.
Instead of swiping on 1 single boring color, you can now tattoo your lips with various designs such as cheetah, roses and leopard print. The tattoos are temporary and last 4-8 hours, enough time to ignite some rumors that you are actively culturing a virus on your pucker.

Each package of decals comes with 3 applications and cost $14.95

A Sneak Peek at Rihanna’s Fragrance

Last April we discovered that Rihanna was the latest celeb to sign a perfume deal with Parlux Fragrances. Although Reb’l Fluer is not due in stores until next month, photos of the highly anticipated perfume are slowing starting to be released.

Reb’l Fleur contains notes of tuberose, violet and hibiscus with a touch of coconut water, and the elegant bottle was designed in the shape of a stiletto.

OCC Releases Vegan Makeup Brushes!
As if Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics needed to give me yet another reason to love them…
Last week the 100% Vegan and PETA Approved brand, released their highly anticipated line of Vegan Professional Makeup brushes!! OCC has been raising the bar when it comes to Cruelty Free products for years, and these professional brushes are a fantastic alternative to the traditional, animal hair brushes.

David Klasfeld, the founder of OCC (and an incredible makeup artist fyi), gave Last Looks a little more information about his brand’s newest release..
Why did you decide to create a line of vegan makeup brushes?
“It was actually our customers who inspired us to create the new brush line. We received so many requests for this type product because our customers realized that we had quickly become the industry leader in professional makeup products that were not only cruelty-free, but completely vegan as well. This really made us determined to create the best line of synthetic brushes out there, not only for use by artists, but for our customers’ use at home as well.”
OCC was the official makeup sponsor of LA Fashion Week and I heard that the artists working the shows were some of the first to field test these brushes. What feedback did you receive from the makeup artists at the shows, and will your brushes be a viable option for professionals, as well as consumers, in terms of quality and performance?
“While synthetic brushes of varying quality is no major innovation in the cosmetics industry, ours is the first entirely synthetic line to be determined completely by artist feedback and tested for performance in professional situations before being made available for sale. Feedback at LA Fashion Week could not have been more positive. Any suggestions made were taken into account before the brushes went into mass production, and are now available as determined and approved by our artists.”
The introductory selection of brushes include:
Large Round Powder Brush
Foundation Brush
Concealor Brush
Tapered Blending Brush
Angled Blending Brush
Short Shader Brush
Large Shader Brush
Small Shader Brush
Angle Brush
